Biography
Walter S. Little (1873-1962), son of Henry and Elsie Perry Little, was born in Bridgewater on March 4, 1873. He was educated in Bridgewater public schools and then graducated from Comer's Commercial school in Boston, MA in 1896.
Walter worked as a bookkeeper for the Bridgewater Box Co. from 1891 to 1896. In 1897, he founded the Eastern Grain Co. and served as its President until 1941. He was a Trustee of the Bridgewater Savings Bank and the President of the Bridgewater Trust Co. He also served as Town Moderator for eight years.
He married Flora Phillips Townsend (later Flora Townsend Little) on September 6, 1902. The Littles’ home was at 15 Plymouth Street in Bridgewater, but they traveled regularly throughout their marriage. Walter died on May 27, 1962.
