Born October 3, 1866, Mr. Dickinson came to Bridgewater from Huntington, Mass., in 1905. He was editor, owner and publisher of the Bridgewater Independent from 1905 to 1949, and continued to write the editorials until his death on Jan. 6, 1949. He married Florence Stewart of Hopkinton in 1902. They were the parents of two daughters, Louise Dickinson Rich, author, and Alice D. Hoke. He was active in the Lions Club and was Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce.
